AOA - Venture Almost Desperate

Some of you were interested in hearing about the drama we were in about the Pilgrims called Venture Almost Desperate. It was put on by the Academy of Arts and was totally awesome! I will include the few pictures I actually got. :)

This is Lucy and I; she's 19 years old and she came all the way from Northern Ireland last August to join the AOA (Academy of Arts) team for a year before heading back home. It was really amazing to get to meet her (she had this awesome accent!) and help out in the costume room. :)

My brother Elijah and I in our costumes for the drama performance. He was Captain Jones and I was a walk-on Pilgrim and a reader. I told my friends that I haven't had my hair parted down the middle like that since I was 10! Elijah looks rather like a Spaniard, don't you think (cue Inigo Montoya's classic line)?

Anna in her Pilgrim outfit; isn't she pretty? (I think she looks older with her glasses, but they didn't have those back then). ;)

I dragged Josiah up to the costume room before the play to get a picture of him in this hat. The pictures really don't do the feather justice. It was huge! During the week of preparation, the girls in the costume room would argue over whose day it was to wear it. :)

I told him to smile and that's the face he made. (facepalm) I know exactly who he gets it from, too. (clears throat and coughs out-) Isaiah!

I tried to get a good selfie with the two of us in the big feather hats, but it came out kind of blurry and you can't even see my feather! Oh, well... I have good ones of Josiah, and that's really all I wanted. :)

The drama (if you haven't guessed it yet) was based on the Pilgrims and the hardships which caused them to leave for America and the voyage there. It was really incredible to be a part of this musical performance and I hope I'll be able to do Academy again next year! :D

Have you decided whether you're doing the cosplay? And if so, who are you doing? :)

I haven't quite decided. If I do dress up it probably won't be to elaborate though, because usually at the cast partys we end up playing a HUGE game of cops and robbers ( typical homeschool activity). So I wouldn't want to wear something I was afraid to get dirty and sweat in. Scince I don't have alot of costumes in my wardrobe I may end up wearing my Venture shirt( or I could just dress all crazy and mix matched and wear my pink wig. That would probably scare everyone out of their wits!).

    3. I'm going as Belle, but I'm wearing khakis under the skirt in anticipation of any games (as you said, cops and robbers is a typical homeschool activity). :)
Oh my goodness, yes! That wig is hilarious! XD

You will make a beautiful Belle! She is my favorite princess, and Gaston is my dad's favorite villian! I really miss seeing you every day. :( But, the Academy is already planning next year! Wouldn't it be amazing to go to South Carolina and see Prince Caspian?

He is very arrogant... Kind of like Gavin... But that is what makes him awesome!!! ( Gaston, not Gavin!)
